Course: BCN Symposium: Connecting levels of neuroscience through computational modeling

Computational modeling across different levels of neuroscience

The main question this symposium tries to answer is how computational modelling can be used to connect the different levels of description of the brain. We have invited experts to share their level of modelling and to provide their ideas on how their modelling can relate to other levels. Petra Ritter is working on large-scale brain models that describe the dynamics of whole brains. Samuel Johnson focuses on how we can characterize the topology of brain networks. Demian Battaglia does modeling not only on the whole-brain level, but also micro and medial levels, but also thinks about how to connect all of those levels. Finally, Andre Marquand uses modeling on the fMRI level to predict psychiatric disorders. In addition to external experts, the symposium will also discuss various researchers at the University of Groningen who use computational modeling in their work.
