The essential elements are:
  • Working in a team

  • Defining a project outline, tasks responsibilities
  • Decision-making in your project
  • Managing a project (concrete tasks in concrete time periods, phasing of activities)
  • Time Management
  • Department specific cultures/do's and don'ts
  • Coach meetings on an individual basis
  • Group meeting with coaches during your PhD study

The participants will not only become familiar with the theory, but will also practice useful skills by means of assignments and exercises.

The main topic of the follow-up group sessions is the progress of your PhD project. The sessions last about 3 hours. Note that the follow-ups are compulsory and are especially aimed at assisting you in how to prepare yourself to complete your their thesis within the limited time span of your appointment/scholarship.

  • Be able to identify the processes around you that influence your work, and to identify those processes that interfere with progress and which should be eliminated
  • Learn about phasing of (complicated) research and managing project progress by using phasing tools.
